Meet the mentors
JONATHAN RAMOS

With over 20 years as a music industry executive, Jonathan Ramos has a breadth of experience in the North American concert market - from working with developing acts to global superstars.
Ramos founded R.E.M.G. in 1993, becoming Canada’s leading hip-hop/R&B concert promoter. R.E.M.G. produced shows on first-ever tours with Eminem, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, John Legend, M.I.A., Jamie Foxx and The Roots. Ramos created the concept and planted the seeds for what is now one of the longest-running music festivals in America, The Roots Picnic. During this time, Jonathan also worked with BeatFactory Music, Canada’s largest independent urban music label. As VP Marketing, he oversaw the launch, branding and marketing of the RAPessential and GROOVEssential album series which featured Canada’s biggest hip-hop and R&B stars including Glenn Lewis, Kardinal Offishall, The Rascalz, Ghetto Concept and others.
From 2005 to 2007, Jonathan was Director A&R for Sony BMG Canada, guiding the domestic roster of Canada’s second-largest major label. Working with artists Chantal Kreviazuk, Keshia Chante, The Philosopher Kings, Eva Avila, Canadian Idols and db Clifford among others he was responsible for the recording of many albums certified either Gold or Platinum.
In 2008, R.E.M.G. merged with Calgary-based, The Union Ltd, to form Canada’s largest independent concert promoter. With offices in Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton, The Union produced hundreds of shows and festivals annually across Canada. Artist highlights include Drake, The Weeknd, J Cole, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and many others.
2013 saw Ramos join Canada’s largest entertainment and hospitality company Ink Entertainment as Director, Live Music. In 2014 he created Rapseason, a first-of-its-kind concert and media platform. Rapseason produced shows, tours and content featuring Cardi B, Post Malone, Future, Migos, DaBaby, Tyler The Creator, Sza, Summer Walker, Giveon, Daniel Caesar, Snoh Aalegra among many others.
In January 2023 Jonathan was recruited by global concert powerhouse AEG Presents as Vice-President, Global Touring. Now based in Los Angeles, he responsible for booking and producing arena tours for some of music’s biggest stars including Jhene Aiko and Playboi Carti. After 3 years at AEG Presents, Ramos joined Live Nation, the global leader in live music, as VP Global Touring.
CATHERINE HARRISON

Catherine Harrison, M.Psych., P.C.C., is a Canadian musician, mental health at work consultant, leadership expert, author, certified professional coach, scholar and advocate for inclusive and equitable well-being. Catherine aims to improve our collective mental health literacy and social fitness through education, reducing stigma, and facilitating open, courageous conversations.She is currently leading the first-ever Canadian national study (Soundcheck) to quantify and more fully understand the unique mental health challenges faced by all members of the industry. Catherine is a trusted advisor to several national and international non-profit music organizations and is president of Revelios, helping cross-sector organizations create, integrate, measure and sustain meaningful human-centred leadership strategies, including psychological safety.
JASON REYNOLDS

Jason’s career in sound and production began in Kingston, Jamaica, where he discovered his passion for live sound while attending Pentecostal Tabernacle under the mentorship of Paul Price. His early exposure to large-scale concerts across the island, working alongside his cousin Phillip Grant, allowed him to collaborate with celebrated artists such as Kirk Franklin, Kurt Carr, and Donnie McClurkin. By age sixteen, Jason was determined to pursue live sound professionally.
In 2004, Jason moved to Canada to further his career. In 2005, he studied Audio Engineering and Music Production at Metalworks Institute, establishing a strong foundation for his contributions to the live sound industry. He has since worked with numerous churches in the Greater Toronto Area, providing design, integration, and technical support services. His roles have included Technical and Production Director at Faith Sanctuary Pentecostal Church, freelance audio engineer, and lecturer at Metalworks Institute.
Today, Jason is an Account Manager at Soundbox Productions in Hamilton, Ontario, and serves as President and equal partner at ReynJer Music. His impressive portfolio features roles such as Production Manager and Monitor Engineer for Grammy-winning artist Shaggy and Tour Manager and Front of House (FOH) Engineer for Magic!, the band behind the global hit Rude. He also tours with Stephen Marley as a Monitor Engineer and serves in the same role for the Marley Brothers. Jason’s expertise has led him to mix FOH for acclaimed gospel artists such as Tye Tribbett, Donnie McClurkin, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and the Toronto Mass Choir.
His achievements include working on live recordings like Ricky Dillard’s The 7th Episode, Live in Toronto, which won Stellar Awards, and the Toronto Mass Choir’s Covenant Award-winning album Made for Worship. Jason also served as the FOH Music Mixer for the Legacy Awards, which aired nationally on CBC Television. Most recently, he toured as FOH/Monitor Engineer for major arena tours, including the Kirk Franklin Reunion Tour 2024, the One Hallelujah Tour 2025, Damian and Stephen Marley’s Traffic Jam Tour, The Marley Brothers’ Legacy Tour, and Maverick City Music’s Good News Tour, all hosted in arenas and amphitheatres.
Jason’s influence in the industry is reflected through his endorsements with Gruv Gear, JH Audio, Radial Engineering, and iConnectivity Interfaces, as well as his membership in the elite DPA Masters Club. In 2023, he expanded his expertise into artist management, managing Jully Black, Canada’s Queen of R&B and Soul, and signing Edmonton-based band Melafrique.
Jason has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in live sound and touring throughout his career. Despite his remarkable accomplishments, he remains grounded, attributing his success to being truly blessed.
SARAH FALZON

Sarah Falzon (she/her) is an associate at Taylor Oballa Murray Leyland LLP. Sarah joined the firm in 2016, prior to which she was an associate at a Toronto-based music law firm and at a full service Toronto law firm where she was a strong advocate for clients. She currently practices in the areas of music and entertainment law, primarily working with and representing artists and music services companies navigating through varying stages of their careers and businesses. Sarah is a graduate of McMaster University (Hons. B.Sc. in Mathematics & Statistics) and Osgoode Hall Law School (J.D.). During her time at Osgoode, she was co-president of the Osgoode Entertainment and Sports Law Association, a member of the Mock Trial Band, and a case-worker with the Innocence Project and Innocence Canada (formerly AIDWYC). Sarah is a contributing author to Canadian Musician magazine, a former member of the Music Den advisory committee at Toronto Metropolitan University, and has been a guest speaker for various events and organizations, including Canadian Music Week, Canada’s Music Incubator, Honey Jam, Law in Action Within Schools, and Toronto Metropolitan University. Sarah is a musician herself, and has been playing the violin for over 30 years.
KERRY CLARKE

Kerry is the artistic and marketing director of the 46 year ‘post-folk’ Calgary Folk Music Festival, Block Heater and an off-season concert series.
She’s on several non-profit arts boards, has served on many arts juries, is part of WRAD, co-founded Rwanda’s KigaliUp festival, and produces/hosts weekly CKUA and CJSW radio programs when she’s not traveling to conferences and festivals to see music from a vast range of genres.

How it works
Conducted via 1-hour digital meetings to maximize access from coast to coast to coast, each session will be capped at 7 YMP members. Mentors will speak about their specialties and lead group conversation.
How to register
Mentees will be selected on a first come, first served basis, with attention paid to their rationale to ensure opportunities are being accessed by those working or seeking work in applicable fields.
